Private Route through the Pereiró Cemetery

Throughout the 19th century, the economic growth of Vigo was exponential, which helped establish a powerful bourgeois class in the city.

Architecture is the best reflection of this power. But not just the residential or industrial architecture, but also the funeral. During the century, the cemeteries of Picacho and Santiago remain small, and finally, the cemetery of Pereiró is built, whose inauguration will take place in 1898. This cemetery has some of the best artistic examples in all of Vigo, especially in the sculptural field.
