Cultural Treasure of Salvador - Samba da Bahia

Samba is much more than a dance. In Salvador, it carries the rhythms, history, identity, and cultural resistance of Afro-Brazilian communities. This experience invites you to discover samba from its roots, exploring not only the movements but also the music, cultural context, and feeling that bring the dance to life.

Unlike classes focused on Rio de Janeiro’s samba, performance-oriented style, our workshop emphasizes the Afro-Brazilian rhythms, musicality, and traditions that shape samba in Bahia.

You will learn with local instructors who share the dance as it is experienced in Salvador, connecting movement with rhythm, history, and cultural expression.

No previous dance experience or partner is required. Whether you are a beginner or a dancer, this is an opportunity to move, listen, learn, and connect with OUR culture beyond the steps.

Come ready to experience samba not simply as choreography, but as a living expression of Bahia’s music, history, and identity!
