Chorro Rafting Class IV-V from Manuel Antonio

Guests call it the best rafting they’ve ever done.

The Chorro Rafting Tour is a Class IV–V white-water trip on the upper Naranjo River, 45 minutes from Manuel Antonio. When most rivers in Costa Rica run low, Chorro roars. The river squeezes into a rock canyon and races through one rapid after another: tight turns around huge boulders, steep drops, Dragon’s Tail, Stacy’s Lament and El Chorro itself.

Between rapids, look up: sheer cliffs and waterfalls running down the rock. H2O Adventures was the first company to run this gorge commercially back in 2004. On every Chorro trip, a lead raft goes ahead to check the line.

Halfway down, we stop for a swim, an optional cliff jump and a snack.

No experience needed. Season: December 15 to April 30. Options: Private (your group only, minimum 2 people), Small Group (shared with other guests, minimum 3 people) or Just Rafting (no transport: you meet us in Esquipulas with your own car, minimum 4 people). Minimum age 14.
