Jonathan Dickinson State Park in Hobe Sound, Florida is home to the southernmost population of both the Florida Scrub-Jay and the Red-cockaded Woodpeckers. Bachman's Sparrow, Great Crested Flycatcher, Red-headed and Pileated Woodpeckers, Gopher Tortoises, White-tailed Deer, Raccoons, and Alligators can commonly be seen in the park. In the spring and summer, you might look out for Swallow-tailed Kites soaring gracefully overhead.
